About the CIA Sommelier Summit:
During this fast-paced, multifaceted three-day summit, we provide networking, skill-building, and sensory training to both new and up-and-coming wine and beverage professionals. This showcases what the CIA does best: teaching and learning, tasting and savoring, meeting new people and seeing old friends—all in the spirit of enjoying the pleasures of the table.
After hearing from myriad experts—some with decades of experience and success, and others who have caused more recent revolutions in the industry—you’ll be invigorated to map out your own path so you can enjoy the journey as well as the achievements.
Hit the road next March and head out of the city into New Zealand’s most-loved wine and food region for a celebration like no other. Support the local harvesters, chill out in our pockets of entertainment, immerse yourself in conversations with other lovers of local produce and get ready to fall completely in love with everything North Canterbury has to offer.
Mt. Beautiful is once again proud to support the non profit Backcountry Discovery Routes in 2019. In addition to extending a discount on our wines throughout the year to all BDR supporters, we will also sponsor their annual spring fundraiser held late March in Anza Borrego, Southern California.
About: Backcountry Discovery Routes is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization whose mission is to establish and preserve off-highway routes for dual-sport and adventure motorcycle travel. Through education, advocacy, and promotion of responsible motorcycle travel, BDR seeks to preserve backcountry motorcycling opportunities for generations to come.

Inspired by the fields of daffodils in the Cheviot Hills Reserve, the Festival is held annually in early September in the Cheviot School Grounds. The 2016 event was a wonderful day out for all involved with a bustling atmosphere found at every corner. The date for 2017 is the 9th of September.
A day of fun, family and flowers, each year we welcome a wide range of visitors from around Hurunui, wider Canterbury, Kaikoura and Christchurch, and invite them to sit back, relax, eat, shop and enjoy all that our country fete and village has to offer.
The impact of the Hurunui-Kaikoura earthquake on Cheviot has been widely felt. For our local businesses, the road closure has meant visitors are few and far between and sales are significantly down on this time last year. The Cheviot township is a shadow of its former lively self. To compound this, the wider community is suffering on a different level, with damaged homes and fractured nerves found across the district. The farming community, and our gardens, have also endured three year's of drought, but that is behind us now, the grass is green, the gardens are growing!
Mt. Beautiful Winery is excited to participate in this event for the first time and will be pouring at the Negociants New Zealand stand for all three days of the festival!
